"A reminder that sometimes dance music is the synthesis of the body and the head" - Inverted Audio

London based artist Charles Vaughan is proud to present his latest release, a deeply contemplative and cathartic EP that aims to create a space for reflection.

Charles Vaughan’s musical influences are broad, from producing and hosting on Worldwide FM, Melodic Distraction Radio and Balamii to curating immersive audio-visual events with Resolution. This EP brings together a tapestry of connections, documenting three simultaneous states of consciousness, each with their unique tone and style, mixing influences such as Floating Points, Special Request and H.Takahashi.

“reflection, exhale” is the product of transitioning through uncertainty, making a change within one’s life and journaling that experience through music. Each track represents a specific moment of reflection; grief, anger and peace. From the earthy pads and deep grooves on “crisis at 01:52AM”, featuring violinist Piksel, to the untethered breakbeat of “im so fucking tired of it all”, and finally the cyclical ambience of “it will get better”.

Sound can create a metaphysical space for us to process our experiences, each as unique as they are temporary. “reflection, exhale” channels this ideology, relinquishing perfectionism and self-limitation to produce an explorative space for both artist and listener to inhabit.

Through discomfort comes expression. Through expression comes reflection.
